KETHEA has had consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) with regard to drug-related issues since 2001. KETHEA is also associated with the UN Department of Public Information (DPI) as a specialised organisation regarding drug-related information and actively participates in international organizations and fora dealing with the treatment of addictions.

KETHEA is a member of the:

•    Conference of NGOs in Consultative status with the UN (CoNGO)
•    Vienna NGO Committee on Drugs (VNGOC)
